Ruth E. Bassel has been active in the development and construction of residential and commercial properties including Government sponsored multi-family projects since 1978. As President of Arcadia Group Investments Ltd., Mrs. Bassel is currently building affordable townhouses that are energy efficient and environmentally sensitive. Mrs. Bassel is President of Durand Management Ltd., a Real Estate Asset Management Company that manages investor tax assets. She is C.E.O. of Arcadia Group Management Inc., a Property Management firm that has a diverse portfolio of residential, condominium and rental projects and commercial, industrial and retail properties. Mrs. Bassel is serving on the Board of Directors of the Metropolitan Toronto Apartment Builders Association, the Board of Directors of the Greater Toronto Home Builders’ Association, the Canadian Standards Association committee on Standards for an Aging Society and the Board of Directors of Habitat for Humanity. Ruth will focus discussions with respect to the aging stock of multi-residential housing and the difficulties contemplated in change.
