Billy Bishop expansion won't 'reduce overall island space’ amid expropriation fears, Toronto Port Authority pledges

The statement from the Toronto Port Authority (TPA) follows the Ford government's introduction of the Building Billy Bishop Act, legislation which grants the province the power to expropriate vast swaths of waterfront land — including the majority of the Toronto Islands — to facilitate the airport's growth and bring bigger planes to the downtown travel hub.
