Will cruise ships soon dock at the foot of Yonge?

Cruise ship terminal
Yes, they might soon dock there. The Toronto Port Authority is actively exploring plans to build a multi-use marine terminal and pier at the Yonge Street Slip, which would place passengers directly on the central waterfront.
While the project is currently in the early business planning stages, the goal is to create a Great Lakes gateway that includes public plazas and an architectural landmark.
For now, Great Lakes cruise ships continue to arrive and depart from the city's existing Cruise Ship Terminal. The 2026 cruising season, running from mid-April through late October, is seeing approximately 45 ship visits and nearly 19,000 passengers.
